Susan's Work for the National
ParkAs part of my DoE service I have been a volunteer for the Northumberland National Park. Throughout the year I have worked on a range of projects all over the National Park.
This was building
a fishing platform for the disabled at Falstone, below Kielder Water.
Restoring the footpath by
Cuddy's Well, Bellingham, on a very cold winter's day.
There is the annual walk with
mince pies in which I played my tin whistle as the musical accompaniment to
carols. This is a short strole up Hareshaw Linn, Bellingham.
The most recent
project was on Simonside, beginning to flood a moss (bog) again by putting in
plywood dams. As you can see the weather wasn't brilliant.
